Meriden Congregational Church
Meriden, New Hampshire

The Meriden Congregational Church is located in the picturesque village of Meriden, New Hampshire. The church serves as a community focal point and important gathering place. Despite its revered standing, however, the churchyard has experienced significant decline over the last decade. On-site parking, in close proximity of the church entrance, is quite limited. This has caused parking to spill onto the lawns and adjacent open spaces. This, in turn, has led to soil compaction, erosion, the loss of lawn and the decline of the stately old shade trees.

Working closely with the Parish Council a site plan was developed that addressed vehicular circulation and parking, pedestrian walkways and handicap access, a new bluestone entrance plaza, a low retaining wall to define a parking area for the elderly and impaired and other landscape improvements including planting and tree and lawn restoration.
