Core Values

We believe the landscape is historic; its character and identity are products of its past.  We believe that time is physically manifested in the landscape and that any landscape design or intervention must acknowledge its influence.  Our designs draw inspiration from the context and history of a site's specific characteristics and stories.

We believe we exist to create a greater good.  As design professionals, we have the duty and obligation to contribute to social improvement.  Through our planning and design we contribute to the cultural evolution of our communities.

We value honesty in our personal and professional relationships and in our approach to our work.  All people, places and things deserve our respect, tolerance and understanding.  We believe maintaining a balance between personal and professional aspirations is essential for individual fulfillment and firm vitality.

We believe it is the responsibility of a good designer to clearly and accurately articulate design ideas to ensure proper execution.  Our precise attention to detail echoes our conceptual processes.  We believe that a simple and elegantly resolved design has more beauty and influence than a design conceived solely upon the trends of the day.  Unresolved design, however ornate, is not successful design.
